A public forum on events that changed Vancouver

The Vancouver City Planning Commission is proud to present Milestones 2016, our second annual Year in Review public forum.

What were the defining planning and development decisions, actions and events of 2016 that could prove to be transformative in Vancouver’s evolution?

Please join us on January 30, 2017, for an engaging discussion with four of Vancouver’s leading urban thinkers and doers on the significant planning and development milestones of the past year. They will draw on a list brainstormed in advance, and on suggestions from the audience. The most significant changes will be added to our Chronology Timeline.

Background

The Vancouver City Planning Commission has been working with local planners, architects, landscape architects, developers, urban historians and engaged urbanist to compile a list of significant planning and development milestones from early settlement by First Nations to the present. The result is an online timeline providing snapshots of significant events, including Council decisions, major real estate developments, federal housing investments, regional plans, new transportation technologies, social policy innovations and environmental restoration. Visit our website to learn more.
